
About the Artist
Eileen Stapleton McCarthy is an eclectic, interdisciplinary, contemporary Irish visual artist with a keen interest in the Irish landscape environment. She has studied Fine Art Painting at St. John’s College Cork and is attained a B.A (Hons) in Fine Art Painting at Limerick School of Art and Design. Eileen holds a Postgrad. Dip Counselling (Hons) from University College Cork and is an accredited therapist and supervisor with I.A.C.P. her many decades of working in this field is also brought to bear in her artwork.
Eileen is a mixed media artist, engaging with many mediums such as painting, installations, photography and audio-visual media, land art and Social Engagement. She is well known as an evocative and creative writer. Her engagement with the community, landscape, heritage, and a love for nature is evident throughout her practice. Her artwork is an relational exploration of humankind, the landscape environment, and believes in our potential to change.
